Microsoft excel 2011 help
I've checked on a user's PC this morning (they had lost the file since yesterday. Also, if it was this causing the issue, wouldn't it be happening to all users?ģ. Unfortunately, I can't see my security manager approving the removal of the Anti-Virus software. And also, for some users, they only have one add-in file, so there's no others for it to conflict with.Ģ.
PCs, so there shouldn't be any differences between the machines. Also, some users don't have this issue at all, whereas other have it almost every few days.
The macros being used are all fairly straight forward 'reformatting the spreadsheet' type macros. Sorry for the silence, but have had issues trying to access this forum through my work PC.ġ. I thought that maybe if I were to make the files add-in files (.xlam) this might help, but it hasn't.Īlternatively, is there a better way of rolling out these macros? My helpdesk are unaware of any policies that might wipe these files from this location. That the user's roaming profile wasn't getting updated, but if this were the case, then it should happen every time they log on, which it doesn't. We've even had instances, myself included, where we've been using the macros one minute, and then the next minute the file has gone. This seems to be happening on an almost weekly basis, although it's not every user. On investigation, it turns out that the shortcut in the XLSTART folder has I don't know if this is just a coincidence or not, but since then we have had loads of reports from users that their macros have gone missing.

This way, if any changesĪre made to the macro, I only need to update the one copy on the network. I have written many macros for our users, and have always distributed them by storing the actual Excel Workbook on the network and then creating a shortcut to this workbook in the user's \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART folder.
